Frequently asked questions.
1. How long is a counselling session?
A standard one-to-one session lasts 50 minutes. This provides enough time to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, focused space.
2. What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss what brought you to counselling, and explore your goals. We’ll also agree on the practicalities, such as frequency of sessions and payment. There’s no pressure to continue beyond this session if it doesn’t feel like the right fit.
3. Are counselling sessions confidential?
Yes. All sessions are completely confidential, in line with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical guidelines. Information shared will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent, except in rare circumstances where safety is at risk.
4. Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. I provide secure online sessions via Zoom, Skype, or other agreed platforms. Online sessions are suitable if you live outside Gibraltar, Spain, or the UK, or if attending in person is difficult.
5. How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from ongoing support. We’ll discuss a plan together and review progress as we go.
6. Can I schedule a trial or introductory session?
Absolutely. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call where you can ask questions, discuss your needs, and see if counselling with me feels like a good fit, with no obligation to continue.
7. How do I book a session?
You can book a session by contacting me via the Contact page, email, or phone. Once we confirm a time, I’ll provide instructions for payment and session details.
8. What issues do you help with?
I support clients dealing with a range of challenges, including:
Anxiety and stress
Low mood or depression
Relationship difficulties
Life transitions or major changes
Coping strategies for everyday challenges
