Andy began training in Martial Arts in 1987 and became a full time Instructor in 1995, setting up his own business - Scriven Martial Arts. In order to further enchance his skills he qualified with YMCA Fit in 2000 as a Gym Instructor and began working with clients at a variety of gyms on their fitness goals, progressing to the role of Personal Trainer.
Whilst working with Wave Leisure in 2007 he qualified as a GP Referral specialist, dealing with clients with all kinds of medical conditions to rehabilitate them and increase their fitness levels on a one to one basis. He runs both adult and childrens fitness classes and impliments martial art programmes into health clubs around the sussex area.
Andy received his Master Instructor (4th Dan) qualification in Soo Bahk Do in 2008 and holds the rank of Black Belt Instructor with the World Kickboxing Association. In addition he is training to become a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor with the Gracie Academy and at present holds the rank of Blue Belt. He has competed successfully at National & International Level and been asked to demonstrate and teach all over the world. He is regularly asked by a number of organisations to run workshops, seminars and holiday sessions working with kids as young as 3 years to adults well into their 70's. In addition he has worked on a number of films both as a stunt performer and fight cheorgrapher/co-ordinator putting together highly explosive and dynamic fight scences. Andy has trained a number of actors for fight scences using his experience to prepare them properly for the physical demands required to perform on camera.
Whilst working with a number of clients he introduced strength & conditioning drills coupled with pad skills using martial arts to vary their training routinues. This became more and more popular with clients and so the concept of Cardio Strike was realised. Its versatile, and different for every client dependant on their focus, limitations, and interest. Andy is continually updating his knowledge and trains with the best in the business to ensure that you get a first class service.
